Base pay range: $42.00/hr - $56.00/hr

Job Description

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Radiology Technician Special Procedures in the Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab departments. Responsibilities include taking general radiographic films, assisting with fluoroscopy, teaching radiology students, and preparing charge slips and records. This is a 100% onsite position based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Eligible for a Sign-on Bonus up to $10,000.

Under supervision, performs duties of radiologic technologist and assists radiologist in specialized procedures requiring advanced training for patients of all ages.

Essential Job Functions

• Completes patient orders as specified
• Performs daily quality control on equipment
• Ensures radiation safety practices
• Checks exam quality and repeats if necessary
• Reports equipment issues
• Obtains patient history
• Performs imaging to obtain optimal exams
• Administers contrast material as required
• Prepares surgical trays and instruments
• Researches and retrieves patient information
• Assists radiologist in IR procedures
• Explains procedures to patients
• Follows safety standards and protocols

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
• Certification with ARRT
• Active BLS certification from AHA
• Active Radiography accreditation with Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety

Preferred Skills

• Thorough knowledge of Interventional Radiology equipment
• Ability to work under pressure and react quickly
