Job summary

Boston Medical Center Brighton is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to support diagnostic imaging services. The role focuses on preparing and positioning patients, performing radiographic exams with precision, and ensuring hospital standards of radiation safety.

Candidates must have completed an approved Radiologic Technology program, hold MA licensure or temporary licensure and ARRT certification/eligibility, and preferably hold an Associate’s degree.

Qualifications

• Must be able to collaborate and effectively communicate with Radiology clients.
• Ability to explain examination process to patients.
• Knowledge of Radiologic Technology program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and number of films to provide diagnostic information as directed by department guidelines.
• Prepares and positions patients relative to diagnostic equipment and performs radiographic examinations with accuracy.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the working area.
• Manages patient flow and quality of films under supervision of Technical Manager.
• Operates radiographic equipment with attention to radiation safety (collimation, shielding, identification).
• Maintains professional demeanor with patients and staff.
• Performs clerical and transport duties to support patient care.
• Assists Technical Manager in daily processor/film sensitometry.
• Completes patient tracking for billing, report transcription and film retrieval.
