Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiological procedures under radiologist supervision. You will prepare patients, position them, and ensure high-quality images for diagnosis across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role supports a dynamic radiology team at UAB St. Vincent’s Blount with opportunities for hands-on learning, cross-training, and a focus on safety and quality in imaging, with self-scheduling options.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire.
• Bone Density Certification may be required within 6 months of hire.
• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from CCI before hire date.
• Radiologic Technologist (Radiography) ARRT before hire date.
• Radiologic Technologist (Sonography) ARRT before hire date.
• Medical Sonographer ARDMS before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice and applicable regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity; monitor and update protocols as warranted.
• Follow radiation safety procedures to minimize patient exposure to radiation.
• Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct data/history.
• Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report issues; lock/tag out if needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized department and areas including procedure rooms and storage.
• Position patients and select anatomical and technical parameters accurately.
• May perform DEXA bone density scans if applicable.

Graduate of an accredited educational program in Radiologic Technology
