Job summary

Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio (SMASA) is seeking a motivated Radiology Technologist to join our orthopedic-focused team in Texas. You will prepare patients, set up and operate radiographic equipment, and perform quality imaging with attention to safety and infection control.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate degree, be ARRT registered, and have 1–3 years of X-ray experience in an orthopedic setting while demonstrating leadership and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Current state X-ray license.
  • ARRT registered and in good standing.
  • 1–3 years of X-ray Technologist experience, preferably orthopedic.
  • Demonstrates leadership, planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Positions patients and images targeted body areas as requested by physicians.
  • Maintains records, logs, and monthly reports; inputs charges for X-ray services.
  • Manages radiology supplies and performs housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Assists with ordering and resupply of medical and office supplies.

Job description

Orthopedic Sports Medicine Physician practice looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a certified Radiology Technologist at SMASA.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients and includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
  • Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patient's body as requested by physicians.
  • Maintains required records including patient records, daily logbooks, and monthly reports.
  • Input charges for X-Ray and Casting performed.
  • Data entry/medical record scanning.
  • Maintains radiographic supplies, film, and orders as necessary.
  • Performs required housekeeping activities within radiology department.
  • Assist clinical staff with the ordering and resupply of medical and office supplies and equipment.
  • Perform and/or assist with clinical duties when time allows and/or when other duties are assigned.
Education

Education: Associate degree. Current state X-Ray Technology license.

Experience

One to three years of experience as X-ray Technologist, preferably in orthopedic practice environment.

Other Requirements

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registered.

ABILITIES:

Must demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills. Excellent planning, organization and managements skills. Ability to multi-task, works in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrates team cooperation.

Job Type:

Full-time - Monday through Friday with a few rotating Saturday mornings. Traveling involved from one clinic to another based on physician schedule. Dependable transportation and insurance is required. Clinic location will be determined on business need.
