Job summary

Orthopedic Centers of Colorad is seeking a Radiology Technician to provide radiology services in a high-paced orthopedic setting. The role requires strong patient care, independence, and teamwork to support clinicians and patients during imaging procedures.

The technician will perform X-ray exams, ensure orders are accurate, operate imaging equipment, and uphold ALARA safety standards while maintaining imaging records and PACS documentation.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • R.T. (R) registration in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Ability to work with a diversity of patients in orthopedics.
  • Experience with EMR and PACS systems.
  • Able to work independently and in a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform x-ray examinations and confirm the required exam.
  • Operate processing equipment and review images for accuracy.
  • Maintain radiation safety (ALARA) principles.
  • Assist with imaging records in PACS and create CDs on request.

Description

RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN POSITION OVERVIEW:

Radiologic Technologist will provide radiology services while providing exceptional care to patients in a busy, high-paced orthopedic setting. Applicants must have strong patient care and communication skills. Must be independent, self-starting, and highly motivated. Excellent teamwork is required.

RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform x-ray examinations on patients; confirm the appropriate exam has been ordered; prepare patients for x-ray; obtain risk of pregnancy information from female patients; determine appropriate exposure factors on x-ray equipment.
  • Operate processing equipment; review images for accuracy; submit images to providers for review; complete procedures while maintaining quality of work within an established time frame.
  • Perform routine radiographic examinations while practicing radiation safety (ALARA) procedures.
  • Assist in duties during down time, such as maintaining imaging medical records into PACs system; preparing x-ray CD’s upon patient request.

RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Completion of an approved course of study in Radiologic Technology.
  • R.T. (R) registration in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Ability to work with a diversity of patients in orthopedics.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a member of a healthcare team.
  • Experience working with electronic medical record systems and picture archiving and communications systems (PACS).
RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Typical business office environment
  • Possibility of local travel
  • Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing and typing
  • Frequent standing, walking and sitting
  • Frequent stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling 10 pounds or more
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to or over 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 8 hour shifts. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
