Job summary

OCC - Advanced Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists is seeking a Radiology Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging in a busy orthopedic setting. You will perform X-ray exams, ensure appropriate orders, and maintain imaging quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will hold ARRT certification or be eligible, with completion of an approved radiologic technology program and licensure. Strong patient care and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required.
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technologist program leading to license.
  • ARRT registration or eligibility; registration within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform x-ray examinations and verify order accuracy.
  • Operate processing equipment and review images for quality.
  • Maintain radiation safety (ALARA) practices.
  • Assist with imaging records in EMR and prepare CDs upon request.
  • Complete all competency and skill training per policy.

Job description

RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST POSITION OVERVIEW:

Radiologic Technologist will provide radiology services while providing exceptional care to patients in a busy, high-paced orthopedic setting. Applicants must have strong patient care and communication skills. Must be independent, self-starting, and highly motivated. Excellent teamwork is required.

Radiology Technologist Essential Functions
  • Perform x-ray examinations on patients; confirm the appropriate exam has been ordered; prepare patients for x-ray; obtain risk of pregnancy information from female patients; determine appropriate exposure factors on x-ray equipment.
  • Operate processing equipment; review images for accuracy; submit images to providers for review; complete procedures while maintaining quality of work within an established time frame.
  • Perform routine radiographic examinations while practicing radiation safety (ALARA) procedures.
  • Assist in duties outside of scope during down time, such as maintaining imaging medical records into EMR system and preparing x-ray CD’s upon patient request.
  • Completing all competency and skill training per company policy.

Radiology Technologist Required Qualifications And Skills
  • Ability to work with a diversity of patients in orthopedics.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a member of a healthcare team.
  • Experience working with electronic medical record systems and picture archiving and communications systems (PACS).
  • ARRT American registry of Radiologic Technologists Required
  • Completion of an approved program resulting in Radiologic Technologist License
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registered or registry eligible. Eligible personnel must submit a registration application within 90 days of employment. Eligible personnel must be registered within 12 months.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be occasionally able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
  • Hours and days will vary as PRN
