Job summary

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification is required.
  • Radiologic technologist license in the practice state.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • May need to complete MA Competency Checklist and perform MA duties in a clinic or InstaCare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency.
  • Verify patient identification and prepare for the exam.
  • Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols and equipment.
  • Provide patient education and ensure comfort.
  • Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operate equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keep accurate records of patient information and procedures.
  • Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and report equipment failures.
