Job summary

Intermountain Health's Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO is seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist to join our patient-centered care team. This position offers flexible, as-needed scheduling and is compensated at an hourly rate with shift differentials.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, ARRT registry, current state license, BLS certification, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and ARRT registry.
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice required.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association required.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar patient population preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.
  • Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
  • Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by ED and nursing units.
  • Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following procedures.
  • Prepare or clean patient rooms and maintain a safe, efficient environment.
  • Protect patients from radiation exposure using lead shields and safety factors.
  • Assist in administering contrast agents and monitor for allergies.
  • Maintain patient information and filing of film jackets for accurate records.

This PRN opportunity is ideal for Radiology Technologists seeking flexibility, supplemental income, and meaningful work within a supportive healthcare system.

Essential Functions:
  • Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures.
  • Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
  • Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
  • Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies and wiping off tables and equipment ensuring an efficient and clean working environment.
  • Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by using lead shields and various safety factors.
  • Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents by monitoring dosages and determining any potential allergies ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain patient information as needed by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required.
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice, (if applicable) required.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, preferred.
