Job summary

Intermountain Health's Utah Valley Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for PRN shifts across multiple clinical areas. You will perform diagnostic radiographic exams, support fluoroscopy and OR cases, and collaborate with the radiology team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualified applicants hold ARRT certification, state licensure if required, and BLS; MA competency may be required in some clinic settings.

  • Support fluoroscopy, operating room imaging, and minor procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and caregivers to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Deliver an excellent patient experience while producing quality diagnostic images.
  • Adapt to varying patient volumes, staffing needs, and priorities across the hospital.

Job description

Utah Valley Hospital is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our PRN team. This position supports a variety of clinical areas throughout the hospital and is ideal for a caregiver who enjoys a dynamic environment, diverse patient populations, and utilizing a broad range of radiology skills.

About This Role
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic exams across a variety of patient care settings, including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and procedural environments
  • Support fluoroscopy, operating room cases, and minor procedures
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other caregivers to provide safe, high-quality patient care
  • Deliver an exceptional patient experience while producing quality diagnostic images
  • Adapt to changing patient volumes, staffing needs, and clinical priorities throughout the hospital
Minimum Qualifications
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification
  • Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable)
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform the function of an MA in a clinic or InstaCare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with fluoroscopy, operating room imaging, and minor procedures
  • Experience working in a hospital-based radiology department
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a variety of clinical settings
  • Comfortable floating across multiple clinical areas and patient populations
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills
  • IV Certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
