Overview

Radiologic Technologist - Orthopedics - XRay/Fluro role at McLeod Health. Join to apply for the Radiologic Technologist - Orthopedics - XRay/Fluro position.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification by verbal response comparing two identifiers—the requisition and chart.
• Ensures correct procedure is performed by checking the order, requests order clarification as needed, and documents order clarification correctly.
• Treats patient and procedure in accordance with the McLeod Health Confidentiality policy.
• Completes annual training and demonstrates age-specific care to meet the needs of the patient population served.
• Greets and assists the patient with appropriate attire for the procedure, thoroughly explains the procedure, length, expectations, and desired results.
• Expresses sincere concern for the patient’s well-being and helps reduce anxiety.
• Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for the procedure based on body habitus, pathology, and body part while consistently positioning the patient properly during the procedure.
• Verifies that all images obtained have crossed over successfully into PACS and are of high quality prior to forwarding to Radiologists for interpretation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of C-Arm/Fluoro equipment when assisting with Pain Management procedures.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of imaging equipment, as listed on the Competency Skills Checklist.
• Maintains attention to equipment and patient during the procedure.
• Maintains acceptable completion time based on the complexity of the procedure and the patient’s condition, demonstrating good time utilization through productivity.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
