Job summary

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT Certification in Radiography required.

• State licensure as required.

Job Description

• The Special Procedures Technician performs advanced imaging and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist.
• This role involves operating specialized equipment, assisting with minimally invasive procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
• Prepare and maintain the procedure room, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Maintain a professional image and deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues in alignment with Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
• Prepare and position patients for specialized procedures such as angiography, interventional radiology, and cardiac catheterization.
• Operate fluoroscopy and other advanced imaging equipment during procedures, ensuring diagnostic image quality.
• Assist physicians with sterile technique, procedural setup, and on-call assignments as needed.
• Monitor patient vital signs throughout procedures and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies.
• Document all procedures accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain compliance with organizational policies.
• Ensure radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance; perform routine equipment checks and quality control measures.
• Select and apply appropriate technical factors based on patient body habitus, pathology, and anatomy.
• Continue professional development through ongoing education programs and in-service training.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in diagnostic imaging; prior experience in interventional or special procedures preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
• ARRT Certification in Radiography required
• Additional Certification In Cardiac-Interventional (CI) Or Vascular-Interventional (VI) Preferred.
• State licensure as required.
• BLS and ACLS required
