Job summary

HCA Florida Northside Hospital in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for a full-time night shift. You will perform radiographs and fluoroscopic imaging to support physician diagnoses and treatments, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

This role requires an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification, FL licensure, and BLS. You will work with imaging teams, documenting procedures in MEDITECH and maintaining equipment standards.

Qualifications

  • Florida-licensed radiology technologist with a Florida ARRT certification.
  • 2-year/Associate degree in radiologic technology or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographs (x-rays) to assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment.
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images with proper markers and date stamps.
  • Prepare, transfer and position patients ensuring modesty and safety.
  • Document clinical information and obtain informed consent for exams.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness to prevent cross-contamination.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed Radiology Technologist for a full-time opportunity. You will take radiographs (x-rays) of patients which will assist physicians in diagnoses and treatment and perform procedures accurately and in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner. Your tasks and responsibilities as a Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) may include but are not limited to:

  • Possess sound and thorough knowledge of all diagnostic radiographic procedures and related equipment including surgical, portable, trauma, general and fluoroscopic radiographic procedures
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation utilizing appropriate lead markers as well as date and time stickers where indicated
  • Select proper and accurate technical factors and techniques to accommodate patient and assist in administration of contrast media when indicated
  • Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
  • Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time.
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
  • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
Qualifications
  • 2-year/Associate degree
  • Hospital-based Radiologic Technology program
  • Valid ARRT certification
  • Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
