Job summary

OrthoCarolina Matthews office is seeking a Part-Time Radiology Technologist. This role provides diagnostic radiographs for physicians, adheres to radiation-safety standards, and works Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m.

to 9:00 p.m., with opportunities to pick up additional shifts. Responsibilities include patient positioning, preparing clinical history, operating radiology equipment (Siemens/GE/Philips), logging procedures and charges, maintaining exam rooms, and assisting with patient flow under

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by ARRT/AMA.
• Minimum of one year radiography experience in orthopedics.
• Current CPR certification recommended.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in positioning radiological procedures as per policy.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures and obtain history.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors with radiation protection.
• Logs radiological procedures, processes charges and related paperwork.
• Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks supplies.
• Assists with patient transport and flow in the radiology module as directed.

This role is scheduled for Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with opportunities to pick up additional shifts if desired.

The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage ofappropriate protectionstandards.

EssentialFunctions:

• Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological proceduresas prescribed bydepartmental policy.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients'understandingand address any questions or concerns.
• Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and providespatientwith radiation protection and safetyin accordance withprescribed methods.
• Logsradiological procedures completed,processescharges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
• Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms andstocksnecessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with allOrthoCarolinapolicyand procedures.
• Assistswith the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.Assistwith patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability tooperatevarious manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, (i.e.Siemens/GE/Philips).
• Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.
• Skill inidentifyingequipment problems and correcting or notifyingsupervisor.
• Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.
• Observes safety and security procedures.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
• Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.
• Professional license or certification requirements:
• Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
• Current CPR certificationrecommended.
