Job summary

OrthoNC is seeking a self-motivated Radiologic Technologist to join our fast-paced orthopaedic clinic in Wakefield. You will perform diagnostic radiologic exams, operate imaging equipment, and help ensure patient safety in a high-volume environment. Cross-training for MA and front desk duties supports after-hours coverage.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient communication, infection control, and collaboration across departments to optimize patient flow and care.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification is required.
• Proficient C-Arm skills for diagnostic imaging.
• Experience in orthopaedic or outpatient imaging preferred.
• Able to work efficiently in a high-volume clinical setting.
• Professional, patient-focused demeanor with strong communication.
• Willingness to cross-train for MA/Front Desk duties.
• Strong attention to imaging accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiologic exams as ordered by physicians, ensuring proper patient positioning and image quality.
• Prepare and operate radiologic equipment, following manufacturer and safety guidelines.
• Minimize radiation exposure by using appropriate shielding and protection techniques.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions to ensure comfort.
• Maintain radiologic equipment through maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting service needs.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and clinic safety procedures.
• Assist with contrast media reactions, emergency care, and use of emergency equipment when necessary.
• Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and radiology areas in compliance with standards and regulations.
• Document imaging services and patient interactions in EMR systems.
• Collaborate with team members across departments to support efficient patient flow.
• Cross-train and assist with medical assistant, front desk, or C-arm responsibilities as needed.
