Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic radiologic procedures using standard and portable X-ray equipment. The role emphasizes patient positioning, image quality, safety and efficient workflow within the Radiology Department.

The position requires ARRT certification/MA licensure within a year, BLS, and the ability to work the defined day shift. Eligible candidates may receive a signing bonus; final details confirmed during interview.

Qualifications

• RTR licensure in the Commonwealth Massachusetts, this includes a temporary (1 year) MA license.
• ARRT certification in Radiology is required within 12 months from date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exams and insures comfort and modesty while obtaining and examining requisitions.
• Positions and instructs patients to obtain the desired screening/diagnostic results as specified by the physician.
• Follows department policies and adjusts techniques as required by physician, supervisor, and self-improvement.
• Provides protection to unaffected body areas from radiation exposure following safety standards.
• Calculates and selects proper technical factors and equipment, positions patient to provide diagnostic images.
• Operates imaging equipment per procedure and ensures images meet quality standards and are properly documented.
• Maintains PACs workflow, ensures all images meet quality standards and is timely in RIS.
• Maintains neat work area and ensures supply levels and equipment readiness.
