Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform a variety of imaging procedures using standard x-ray equipment. You will assist physicians, ensure patient safety, and maintain equipment and work areas according to department protocols.

The role requires MA RTR licensure, ARRT certification within 12 months, and BLS; CEU maintenance is expected. This is a non-exempt, on-site position with day shifts and a 40-hour work week in the Endoscopy Suite.

Qualifications

• RTR licensure in Massachusetts (MA) required.
• ARRT certification in Radiology required within 12 months from date of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Some specialty modalities may require additional formal training and certification.
• Maintain all area specific CEUs for ARRT, DPH according to regulation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams, ensures comfort and modesty, and verifies patient identification before procedures.
• Transfers and positions patients, guiding them through imaging procedures to obtain required results.
• Adheres to department policies and adapts techniques as needed for safety and quality.
• Provides protection to unaffected body areas from radiation exposure per safety standards.
• Calculates technical factors and selects appropriate equipment and positioning for imaging.

Education

RTR licensure in Massachusetts (MA)
