A diagnostic imaging technologist performs all required exams in diagnostic radiology.

Responsibilities

• Ensures high-quality patient care and adequate radiation protection at all times.
• When needed, he/she is required to provide coverage for both Newburgh and/or Cornwall campuses of SLCH.

Requirements

• Satisfactory completion of AMA approved school for Diagnostic Radiology Technology Required.
• 1-3 years as a Radiologic Technologist Preferred.
• Technologist must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must possess high degree of knowledge and understanding in services and technology.
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Department of Health's Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection Required.
• Temporary Permit to practice Diagnostic Radiography is acceptable for new graduates. This permit is only accepted up to 180 days after graduation Required.
