Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join the Radiology department in Beloit, WI. This role performs radiographic and related imaging procedures, ensuring image quality and patient safety under physician guidance.

The candidate should be AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology graduate, Wisconsin-licensed, AART registered, and CPR-certified within 90 days of hire. Shift is 2nd, 40 hours per week, with a sign-on bonus and benefits eligible.

Qualifications

  • Maintains documentation of exams, factors, and quality control.

Beloit Health System is looking to add a Radiology Technologist to our Team!

Provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. Performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician. Applies principles of radiation protection. Evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures.

  • Performs diagnostic radiographic services.
  • Greets customers in a friendly but professional manner.
  • Ensures proper patient and film identification.
  • Operates diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Operates other equipment/devices as appropriate.
  • Positions patients.
  • Immobilizes patients as necessary.
  • Selects and/or calculates exposure factors according to age specific guidelines. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
  • Evaluates radiography for technical quality and patient identification.
  • Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Administers or assists with administration of contrast media, as required.
  • Initiates basic life support procedures for patients if necessary.
  • Ensures proper documentation of exam, technical factors, repeat/reject information, quality improvement, etc. Performs quality control checks as required.
  • Sometimes requires working irregular hours.
  • Maintains accurate patient records and file with confidentiality.
  • Assumes responsibility for assigned area ensuring the work area is neat, orderly and stocked.
  • Supervises, assists, instructs and communicates effectively with radiology students.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Radiologic Technology and AART registered.
  • Licensed in the State of Wisconsin.
  • CPR Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to be flexible.
  • Ability to problem-solve and function independently.
  • Institutional commitment.
  • Must adhere to established to regulatory agencies, Beloit Health System, and department policies, rules and regulations.
  • Clinical advisement is received from the Radiologists/MDs.
  • Reporting Relationship: Clinical Manager of Medical Imaging
