Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Aurora, IL is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including fluoroscopy and c-arm, while ensuring patient safety and quality imaging.

You will position patients, select exposure factors, document billing codes, and support staff with imaging quality. Licensure and ARRT certification, plus BLS within 6 months, are required; no prior experience is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Radiographer license issued by the state.
  • ARRT RT registration.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Competently performs basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain history, confirm understanding and address questions.
  • Positions patients and selects exposure factors, provides radiation protection and safety per prescribed methods.
  • Identifies patient and labels images, ensures exam accuracy, processes images and calls back patients as needed.
  • Assists, communicates and consults with physicians; may work independently outside the department.
  • Maintains records per regulatory agencies and enters patient/study data into RIS; documents billing codes for charges.
  • Serves as a resource to staff and assists with accreditation efforts.
  • Performs patient positioning and transporting duties; uses proper technique and safety.
