Job summary

Advocate South Suburban Hospital's Radiology department is seeking a full-time radiology technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with emphasis on patient safety and image quality.

You will obtain requisitions, interview patients, assess pregnancy status, document histories, and perform radiographic procedures with shielding and proper exposure. Flexibility includes weekend rotation and 11:00 AM–7:00 PM shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved radiology technology school.
• General knowledge of x-ray equipment including portables.
• IDNS registry eligible; CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and examine requisitions for each exam.
• Question patients to obtain pertinent history for requisition.
• Screen and document possible pregnancy on female patients.
• Document history and pregnancy with time and initials.
• Introduce self and explain procedures to patients; reassure and gain cooperation.
• Select proper film, place markers, and ensure quality radiographs.
• Protect patient with shielding and correct exposure factors.
• Position x-ray equipment for optimal views and safety.
• Review patient condition and adapt imaging accordingly.
• Maintain safety and follow departmental policies.
