Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking an X-ray technologist to perform general radiographic procedures across the body, with additional responsibilities in phlebotomy and basic lab testing per CLIA standards. The role includes patient prep, image acquisition, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting to physicians.

The position supports patient-centered care and requires ARRT certification, Iowa radiography licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification Required.
• Associate's degree in radiologic technology preferred.
• Iowa Permit to Practice Radiography required.
• ARRT registration required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter training completion required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in the EPIC Radiology module and manage orders.
• Prepare and obtain diagnostic images; verify correct imaging procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and basic laboratory procedures per CLIA guidelines.
• Ensure accurate patient identification and proper film/digital labeling.
• Maintain quality assurance and participate in safety and incident reporting.
• Assist in orientation and training of staff and students.
