Job summary

Island Health in Anacortes, WA, seeks a Radiologic Technologist to join the Diagnostic Imaging team. You will position patients, assist with imaging, administer contrast as needed, and ensure safety and quality across exams.

Requirements include AMA-approved radiologic technology training, ARRT certification, and active BLS and WA state certification. The role is on-site with a 0.75 FTE schedule and a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with AMA-approved radiologic technology training.
  • ARRT certification and current BLS certification.
  • Current Washington State Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a physician.
  • Provide immobilization devices as required.
  • Adjusts controls to produce radiographs as prescribed by a physician.
  • Administers drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaque.
  • Provide radiation protection as needed per exam.
  • Process films by automatic or hand processing.
  • Transport patients to and from waiting areas and rooms, ensuring safety.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
  • Positions patients to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a qualified physician.
  • Provides immobilization devices as required.
  • Adjusts controls of equipment as needed to produce a radiograph as prescribed by a qualified physician.
  • Administers drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaque.
  • Provides radiation protection as needed per exam.
  • Processes films by either automatic or hand processing.
  • Transports patients to and from patients waiting area and/or patient rooms assuming responsibility for their safety.
What You Will Bring To The Role
  • High school graduate or equivalent and satisfactory completion of a formal radiological technology training program in an AMA approved school.
  • Certification through the National registry American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current BLS Certification required.
  • Current Washington State Certification is required
  • Demonstrated communication skills consistent with Island Hospital’s mission, vision, values and Promise.
  • Planning, organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated evidence of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical processing ability.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and has the ability work independently and in a team environment, with strong ethical standards.

Salary Range: $38.64 – $56.08 per hour
