Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with CT experience to perform CT exams, review requisitions, and assist radiologists with protocoling. The role requires ARRT CT registration, BLS within 90 days, and flexibility for OT as needed.

50% CT shifts; strong safety awareness and QC duties are part of daily responsibilities, including documentation and workflow coordination to ensure patient care quality.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required.
  • Licensed by the ARRT and in good standing with CE’s.
  • Registered by the ARRT in CT or registered within 18 months of CT training.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • 50% of shifts in CT.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies each patient and reviews the requisition.
  • Reviews patient history to assist radiologist with protocoling.
  • Daily QC requirements and documentation.
  • Assists with CT accreditation and ensures patient safety.
  • Coordinates radiographic examinations and manages workflow.

Job description

Starting Pay - $37.14 to $55.71 (based on experience)

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technologist Program required

  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • 50% of shifts need to be in CT
  • Prior experience preferred
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Displays a good understanding of age-related developmental issues

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies each patient and reviews each patient’s requisition.
  • Records pertinent data on radiological requisition at all times.
  • Screens patients who need contrast with the “Radiology Contrast Questionnaire.”
  • Reviews patient history to help assist the radiologist with proper protocoling of the exam.
  • Daily QC requirements and documentation.
  • Assistance with CT accreditation process as needed.
  • Assesses patient condition, and ensures patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices.
  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to appropriate supervisor, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images.
  • Coordinates radiographic examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care, and assists with the management of the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Uses computer system in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations to ensure proper examination, documentations, and charges.
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care, and sets priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the clinician’s orders.
  • Explains procedure to the patient to facilitate cooperation and relieve anxiety.
  • Performs “file librarian” and “transporter” responsibilities as required.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies, and notifies appropriate supervisor when stock is low.
  • Always demonstrates awareness of radiation safety procedures for self and others.
  • Regularly prepares and administers contrast media.
  • Reviews laboratory results to insure the safe administration of contrast with the collaboration of the radiologist.
  • Documents and performs venipuncture with 95% accuracy.
  • Charts and delivers radiology reports to medical station or clinician as needed with 100% accuracy.
