Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems in Georgia is seeking Radiology Technologists to join a collaborative care team. You will operate imaging equipment, adjust technique for diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA), and ensure room and equipment cleanliness per infection control schedules.

You will verify orders, gather patient history, explain procedures using AIDET, and document studies in RIS/PACS. This full-time role offers a Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 7:00a–7:30pm schedule, a sign-on

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Certification: ARRT-R (Radiography) and BLS per American Heart Association.
• Experience: Experience preferred but not required.
• Strong patient communication and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, maintaining diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and use two unique patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and document findings in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with equipment restocking.
