Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate imaging equipment, ensure ALARA standards, and maintain patient safety. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R certification and BLS preferred/required.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, maintaining diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol with proper venipuncture technique.
• Position patients, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with crash cart readiness.
• Organize daily workflow and collaborate with staff to support department operations.
• Follow regulatory requirements and elevate issues to supervisor when needed.
