Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a clinical professional to perform venipuncture, basic radiologic procedures, and related patient care in a busy ambulatory setting.

The role involves patient assessment, charting in the EHR, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and regulatory requirements. A radiologic technologist program, ARRT certification, and CPR are required, with licensure for the applicable location.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required and completion of an approved radiologic technologist program.
• Externship in a medical or ambulatory setting is required.
• 1–2 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Must hold a Maryland, Virginia, or DC state license/certification.
• ARRT certification is required.
• CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals while following policies and safety standards.
• Adheres to code of conduct and completes required trainings.
• Prepare patient rooms, clean and sterilize equipment.
• Deliver patient care with safety and quality focus.
• Utilize electronic health records and patient flow processes.
• Perform venipuncture, point-of-care testing, and selected procedures.
• Assist with X-rays and transmit images to radiologist for over-reads.
• Escort patients and support discharge planning as needed.
• Support new clinical and service initiatives and team collaboration.
