The Radiology Technologist performs radiographic examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist, coordinating daily activities including procedures and clerical duties.

Essential Functions

• Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history as per physician requisition.
• Verifies patient identity verbally and through proof of identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologists and physicians.
• Selects and operates equipment, demonstrating proper positioning skills.
• Maintains accurate records per departmental standards.

Physical Requirements

Requires physical effort for assisting patients, handling equipment, and monitoring supplies. Good communication skills are essential. The role involves bending, stretching, kneeling, and manipulating radiographic equipment. Visual and auditory acuity are necessary, along with the ability to adapt to various physical conditions and environmental changes.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Successful completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Tech Program, ARRT registration, and BLS for Healthcare Providers from AHA are required. New graduates must be eligible for registry within one year of hire.
