Job Summary
Coordinates and performs ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols, prioritizing patient care and collaborating with nursing, radiologists, and referring physicians. Operates ultrasound equipment proficiently and ensures high-quality imaging.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
Requires moderate to heavy physical effort, including lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies up to 600 pounds with assistance. Involves walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Requires good visual and auditory senses, and coordination to operate equipment. Mental skills needed to read orders and technical materials.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S) required. A graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program is preferred. BLS certification required per policy. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
