Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, renowned for excellent patient care and medical expertise. Responsibilities include performing radiographic examinations under the supervision of a Radiologist and coordinating daily activities such as examinations and clerical duties.

Essential Functions

• Escort patients, guests, and visitors using ambulatory, beds, cribs, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Use hospital paging and telephone systems for transport tracking and coordination.
• Assist nursing and clinical staff with patient transfers.
• Transport and orient patients upon admission.
• Provide directional information to visitors and patients’ families.
• Verify outpatient registration and transport patients to appropriate departments.
• Retrieve, clean, and store unused patient transport equipment.

Physical Requirements

Requires physical effort assisting patients and handling equipment. Good communication skills are necessary. May involve stretching, bending, twisting, kneeling, and using hands for manipulation of radiographic equipment. Vision and hearing within normal ranges are required.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Completion of a formal Radiology Tech Program in an AMA-approved facility, ARRT registration, and BLS certification from AHA are required. New graduates must be registry eligible with certification completed within one year of hire.
