Job summary

Penn Highlands Healthcare is seeking a Certified Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiography and ensure patient safety during procedures. The radiographer will be responsible for appropriate radiation exposure and patient care throughout the procedure.

Qualified candidates should be ARRT certified, with high school diploma or equivalent. Experience preferred. A $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus is available for qualified candidates, with competitive compensation and benefits.

  • Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with patients and personnel.
  • Knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, anatomy, physics and radiographic positioning.
  • Must provide age-appropriate care.
  • Ability to assess patient data and adjust care per unit policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures to produce quality images.
  • Care for patients during procedures and ensure safety from radiation exposure.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and position patients correctly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to deliver high-quality care.

Job description

AS A CERTIFIED RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST, you'll perform diagnostic procedures using x-rays to produce images of the body. The radiographer is responsible for the care of the patient during the procedure and they are accountable for the appropriate exposure of radiation to humans.

***$20,000 SIGN-ON/RETENTION BONUS TO QUALIFIED CANDIDATES***

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
  • Experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
  • Ability to communicate with patients and personnel required
  • Knowledge of patient care, medical terminology, human anatomy, physics and radiographic positioning
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his/her assigned unit
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age, specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s departmental policies
