Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation in California's Woodland area is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to produce high-quality diagnostic images and support radiologists in accurate diagnosis and patient care. You will perform X-rays, CT, fluoroscopy, and MRIs, while maintaining a focus on patient experience and safety.

Qualifications

  • California radiographer license (CA) required.
  • ARRT registered Radiography Technologist.
  • Fluoroscopy tech certification in CA within 90 days.
  • BLS (AHA) required.
  • Clinical radiologic technology training with hospital rotations.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and imaging terminology.
  • Radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Experience with RIS and PACS systems.
  • Knowledge of routine radiographic procedures and patient prep, including contrast.
  • Safety practices in the patient examination environment.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and others.
  • Ability to perform general radiologic procedures meeting quality standards.
  • Handle allergic reactions and emergencies during exams.
  • Service oriented, courteous with patients and staff.
  • Empathetic handling of distressed patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate records.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. This position is represented by ESC.

Every day you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Contributes to maintaining and enhancing a safe work environment.
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal requirements, risk management issues, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in the Process Improvement Program.
  • Prepares and/or updates film file.
  • Film Imaging techniques follow established department protocols.
Job Requirements

Required:

  • Medical Radiographer: CA
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA within 90 Days
  • Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
  • Clinical training in conjunction with an accredited Radiologic Technology Program with rotations in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology for imaging, principles of operation and care of x-ray machines and accessory equipment.
  • Knowledge of Radiation Safety requirements and ALARA principles.
  • Experience with RIS and PACS systems.
  • Knowledge of routine radiographic procedures and patient preps, including medication utilization and administration (ie; contrast).
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical safety practices and requirements in the patient examination environment.
  • Minimize radiation exposure to patients, self, and other persons.
  • Perform general radiologic procedures which meet the departments standard of quality.
  • Recognize and respond to allergic reactions and other life threatening patient conditions which might arise during the examination process.
  • Participate with a strong service oriented culture.
  • Act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors, and the public.
  • Effectively and empathetically deal with agitated, ill, and distressed patients.
  • Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with physicians and other healthcare personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and information.
  • Coordinate several assignments, maintaining accurate and complete records.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in procedural details and required documentation.
  • Accurately operate and care for Information System computers in the department.
  • Operate in and maintain a sterile environment.
  • New graduates with strong customer service experience and team aptitude are welcomed, that have effectively demonstrated the required special skills during their clinical rotations in an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Preferred
  • Experience performing CT or other modality
