Fox Valley Orthopedics in Illinois is seeking a Clinic Radiology Technologist to join our fast-paced orthopedic clinic. You will obtain quality diagnostic x-rays in accordance with physician orders while delivering friendly, patient-focused service across Elgin, Algonquin, Barrington and Geneva sites.

This part-time position (20 hours/week) requires ARRT (R), Illinois Radiographer license, AMA-approved schooling, and BLS. Previous clinic imaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved radiologic technology school -required.
• ARRT (R) -required.
• Illinois State Medical Radiographer license -required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) -required.
• 1+ year of experience in a clinic imaging department -preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality diagnostic x-rays in accordance with physician orders.
• Maintain image quality and adjust positioning/parameters for optimal results.
• Operate under ALARA principles to ensure radiation safety.
• Communicate effectively with patients to complete exams.
• Interact professionally with physicians, management and team members.
• Attend department meetings and participate in improvement activities.

Position Summary

Our Clinic Radiology Technologist works in a fast paced and high-volume orthopedic clinic. This person is responsible for friendly and positive interactions with our patients, while obtaining quality diagnostic x-rays in accordance with our physician's orders.

Locations: Elgin, Algonquin, Barrington, & Geneva, Illinois (must be willing to travel to multiple site locations)

Status: Part-Time (20 Hours/Week)

Days/Hours: Varying days, including evenings and rotating Saturdays.

Pay Rate: $29.25 - $35.50/Hour (Minimum to Mid-Point, based on experience).

Education

• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved radiologic technology school -required.

License/Certification

• ARRT (R) -required.
• Illinois State Medical Radiographer license -required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) -required.

Experience

• 1+ year of experience in a clinic imaging department -preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Performs quality x-rays in an orthopedic clinic setting. Responsible for quality control of images taken, and able to adjust positioning and technical parameters to get required anatomy for optimal results. Assess patient's abilities to comply with the physical requirements of the exam, then effectively communicate with the patient to complete the exam in a timely manner. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with patients, physicians, management and fellow team members in an efficient and professional manner.

Physical requirements

This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment TB and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment TB and drug screen, background check, and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
