MedStar Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our team at MedStar Ambulatory Services.

The Radiology Technologist performs clinical and administrative duties in the MedStar Ambulatory Services settings, following policies & procedures. Works under physician supervision, performing patient triage, care pathways, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. Certified Radiologic Technologists also perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. Responsibilities include documenting appropriately in medical records and supporting efficient patient flow.

Primary Duties:

1. Acquire ordered images, evaluate their quality, and send to appropriate destinations for interpretation; repeat images as needed. Support all specialists with equipment and procedures. Manage prescriptions and tests, and support physician examinations, testing, and education.
2. Maintain credentials, logs, and perform follow-ups for various tests and screenings. Ensure work area cleanliness and safety. Manage patient flow with communication and support patient comfort.
3. Monitor equipment functionality, report issues, clean and sterilize equipment, prepare patient rooms, and perform annual reporting and safety inspections. Conduct various tests and patient care activities under physician supervision, including suture removal.
4. Document evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress reports. Promote respect and professionalism. Provide care aligned with MedStar’s mission and values, act as a mentor, and advocate for patients, including assisting with discharge processes.
5. Support clinic team during downtime and busy periods, ensuring optimal patient flow. Perform telephone triage, follow-up calls, and transport patients. Prepare and administer medications and injections under supervision.

Qualifications:

• Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
• ARRT certification.
• Radiology Technologist license in Maryland.
• CPR certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
• At least 2 years of medical office experience; experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Completion of an approved Radiology Tech program preferred.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $29.15 - $51.68.
