Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiographs according to ARRT standards, demonstrating knowledge of anatomy, patient care, positioning, radiographic principles, radiation safety, and specialized techniques, while adhering to ethical standards and organizational values.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures including ER, surgical, fluoroscopy, and portable radiographs.
- Operate radiography equipment and accessories.
- Interpret and follow physician orders.
- Practice radiation safety.
- Assist in procedures requiring sterile technique.
- Prepare and administer contrast media.
- Assess patient condition before and during procedures.
- Provide excellent patient care.
- Document clinical history and procedure details.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and report issues.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent for Texas certification.
Experience
- Entry-level candidates accepted depending on shift and responsibilities.
Licenses and Certifications
- Texas Department of State Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologist certification or eligibility.
- ARRT (R) certification or eligible with completion within 12 months.
- CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of employment.
