- Administering radiation therapy treatments, including positioning patients and adjusting machinery to ensure proper treatment is received
- Monitoring patients’ health during treatment to ensure they are responding well to treatment and to identify any adverse reactions to treatment
- Taking and recording X-ray s of patients’ bodies to determine the location of tumors for radiation treatment planning
- Collecting data about each patient’s condition and treatment progress, which may be used to develop new treatments or improve existing ones
- Educating patients about their treatment options and recovery time frames
- Providing emotional support to patients who are receiving treatment for cancer or other life-threatening illnesses
- Supervising technicians who assist with administering treatments
- Reporting any safety concerns to the appropriate staff member
- Explaining the effects of radiation treatment to patients in terms of its impact on their health and wellbeing
