Job summary

Dignity Health Nevada is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures with independence under the supervision of Radiology leadership. The role requires meeting diverse patient needs across age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, and demonstrates initiative in clinical practice.

The candidate must complete an accredited program, hold valid ARRT/ARDMS/NMT registration or registry-eligibility with timely certification, and participate in on-call

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (CAAHEP or equivalent).
  • Current registration/certification by ARRT/NMT/ARDMS or registry-eligible with certification within 4 months of hire.
  • On-call rotations with a 30-minute response time.
  • Advanced level registry to be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures with independent judgment under Radiology leadership.
  • Meet the needs of infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients across procedures (routine, fluoroscopy, OR, trauma, portable radiographs, and limited specials).
  • Maintain competencies and comply with required certifications and regulatory standards.

Under the direction of the Radiologist and/or Radiology Manager and/or Assistant Manager and/or Chief Technologist, the technologist responsibly performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative. Demonstrates the ability to understand the unique infant/child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population and effectively meet those needs relative to growth, assessment and development of the patients. Assumes responsibility for performance in designated areas or procedures as required.

  • This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Must be capable of performing all routine diagnostic procedures independently, including but not limited to: routine, fluoroscopy, OR, trauma, portable radiographs, and limited specials such as Myelograms, Venograms, and ERCPs.
  • Successful completion of a fully accredited training program (full accreditation means the training program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar, nationally recognized accrediting agency), in the pertinent modality for which the employee is being hired.
  • Successful and valid registration/certification by a nationally recognized accrediting agency in the specific modality for which the employee was hired — or registry-eligible, with valid registration/certification obtained within four (4) months of hire date.
  • After one year of satisfactory performance as a validly registered/certified technologist in the specific modality for which the employee was hired, the employee will be reclassified to the Imaging Technologist classification.
  • Modality-specific advanced level registry must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date.
  • Should any of the above requirements (completion of the program or achieving registration/certification) not be obtained within the specified time-frame, a single three (3) month extension may be considered and granted at the discretion of management.
  • Failure to obtain valid certification will result in immediate termination of employment.
  • CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
  • Must have one of the following: registry or certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRITECH, CT XRT), the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CT NMT), or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RG ARDMS). Must be available to participate in on‑call rotations and arrive at the hospital within a 30‑minute response time.
