Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Accurately position patients to ensure effective scanning of specific body areas.
  • Conduct warm-up sequences on radiologic equipment to maintain function.
  • Sterilize radiologic equipment according to hygiene protocols.
  • Interpret and follow physicians' scanning instructions.
  • Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance visibility.
  • Review scans to confirm they meet quality standards.
  • Explain scanning procedures to patients and provide reassurance.
  • Monitor patients for allergic reactions to contrast agents.
  • Maintain inventory of radiologic supplies.

Your commitment to patient care, safety, and technical excellence will be essential in delivering optimal imaging services.**Key Responsibilities:*** Accurately position patients to ensure effective scanning of specific body areas.* Conduct regular warm-up sequences on radiological equipment to maintain functionality.* Sterilize radiologic equipment thoroughly to ensure patient safety and adhere to hygiene and infection control protocols.* Interpret and follow physicians' written scanning instructions accurately.* Administer radiocontrast agents to enhance the visibility of internal structures during imaging.* Review and evaluate scans to confirm they meet technical quality standards.* Clearly explain scanning procedures to patients, offering reassurance and support as needed.* Monitor patients during scanning procedures, identifying and responding to any allergic reactions to contrast agents.* Maintain inventory of radiologic supplies and report any deficiencies.**Required Qualifications:*** Minimum one year of experience in the following modalities: CT, X-ray, MRI, or Ultrasound (US) as verified by ARRT or RDMS certification.* At least one year of experience working in a hospital setting.* An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, combined with one year of relevant experience and training.* Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS).* Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.* Multimodality Technologists must possess certification in two (2) or more modalities: Radiology (X-ray), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US), or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or have completed an accredited cross-training program.**Skills and Qualities:*** Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.* Compassion and patience in dealing with diverse patient populations.* Up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry developments and best practices in radiological technology.* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.**Working Conditions:*** Potential exposure to body fluids and infectious diseases necessitates strict adherence to infection control protocols.
