Job summary

AdventHealth in Rockledge, Florida is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to support radiologist imaging across departments including OR and Fluoroscopy. You will prepare and position patients, perform imaging exams, and ensure safety with infection control and PPE. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available.

Requirements include 2+ years of experience, ARRT RT(R) certification, BLS, and an Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Excellent English communication and documentation skills are essential.

• Ability to analyze data and ensure accurate documentation.
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Practice infection control and use PPE per standards.
• Maintain a stocked, clean room and proper supplies.
• Document radiology support activities and scheduling.
• Provide direct patient care within technologist scope, ensuring comfort, safety, privacy.
• Explain procedures and obtain patient history.
• Perform radiology exams in OR and Fluoroscopy with proper protocols.
• Identify patients per policy and educate about exams.
• Screen for allergies and pregnancy as applicable; minimize radiation exposure.
• Position patients/equipment and select factors for image quality.
• Adapt protocols for patients of all ages.

Job Description

Up to a $10,000 Sign‑on Bonus Available

• Practices infection control standards and utilizes approved personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectant agents.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
• Completes required documentation for Radiologist support and performs clerical duties, including answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist’s scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition and ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
• Obtains and documents patient history and explain procedures.
• Performs radiology duties in all departments and environments, including OR and Fluoroscopy.
• Performs all imaging exams using established protocols and operates all equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment.
• Uses facility policy for proper identification of patients prior to performing exams and educates patients concerning the exam.
• Screens patients properly for any contrast allergies and for childbearing age, minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co‑workers.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Positions patients and equipment and selects technical factors to produce radiographic images meeting Radiologist’s standards in a safe, timely manner.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately [Required]
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility [Required]
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry [Required]
• Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's [Preferred]

Work Experience
