WANTED: Radiology Technician / Mammography Technologist
LOCATION: 5701 8th Street, Dublin, CA 94568
SCHEDULE: 32 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 4 days per week
QUALIFICATIONS:
- US CITIZEN
- Fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in the state of California, and possess diagnostic radiology and mammographic radiologic technician credentials.
- Must have at least one year of experience.
- Able to pass a background clearance.
- Hold a current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Must provide evidentiary documentation of graduation from an accredited school of radiology technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Radiology Technician services include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform routine radiologic procedures (X-rays, Mammograms) ordered by the medical staff for the inmate population.
- Transmit, retrieve X-ray images and reports electronically, and scan reports into inmates’ Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
- Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule all radiographic procedures.
- Work with an inmate population from diverse cultural, racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
- Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations during special radiographic procedures.
- Schedule exams and maintain records.
- Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
- Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary for quality diagnostic exams.
- Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate anxiety.
- Independently perform all radiographic procedures, including chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable x-rays.
- Notify Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen during exams.
- Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
- Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
- Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
- Receive training and comply with correctional techniques related to medical services.
- Develop knowledge of local medical protocols.
- Wear protective clothing and follow CDC universal precautions at all times.
- Perform other duties commensurate with a Radiology Technician.
- Computerize and print daily logs, exam requisitions, and folder/exam labels.
- Complete all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff.
- Prepare x-rays for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Transport x-rays to and from the radiologist for interpretation.
- Assist staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, notifying when supplies are needed.
- Conduct quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment as needed.
- Assist with FDA inspections and preparation for TJC and program review as needed.
- Ensure all x-ray requests are completed properly.
- Computerize patient logs and repeat analysis.
