Job summary

Rutherford Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Radiology Technician for a PRN Orthopedics role in Rutherfordton, NC. You will perform radiographic exams, educate patients, and ensure safety and quality of imaging across procedures.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree and BLS; ARRT registration within 6 months and BCLS within 90 days. We offer wellness programs and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in radiologic technology or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ARRT certification within 6 months of hire; BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and orders; educates patient about procedures and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications as allowed.
• Monitors patient condition and responds to changes in status.
• Prepares equipment; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs QC on equipment.
• Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and addresses image quality issues.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

How you’ll contribute

A Radiology Technician who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results
