Job summary

Children’s Mercy in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for pediatric radiography under a radiologist. The role requires independent judgment, fluoroscopy, C-arm, portable exams, and bone density work, with LEAN practices to support patient safety and quality.

The successful candidate will join a team committed to service excellence, vaccination requirements, onsite work, and professional ARRT licensure supported by on‑the‑job training and ongoing CEUs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or registry eligible ARRT (no experience required; on‑the‑job training provided).
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist in Kansas.
  • Professional registration (ARRT or equivalent) required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Current CEUs per ARRT requirements required.
  • Current licensure as a State of Kansas Radiologic Technologist required (valid for at least 90 days).

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic procedures per department protocol and is competent with fluoroscopy, C‑arm, portable exams, bone density and all diagnostic equipment.
  • Performs essential RIS/HIS functions and maintains LEAN practices related to patient safety and quality.
  • Assists the radiologist in all appropriate procedures.
  • Maintains accurate inventory control functions and all appropriate paperwork.
  • Additional responsibilities for the 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. shift; includes being a general diagnostic call technologist.

Overview

Under the direction of a radiologist, performs technical pediatric radiographic procedures without constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Participates in department and hospital LEAN improvement activities that align with the five True North Pillars. In addition, supports the CMH Service Excellence Program through demonstrated knowledge of CMH Shared Values, Mission and Vision, and Strategic Plan.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $28.25/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work / Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely; the hired person will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations.
