Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's San Ramon Regional Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Radiology Technologist to join the Radiology department. You will perform routine imaging, ensure patient safety, and support physicians with contrast administration as needed.

The role requires a graduate of an accredited radiology program, CA CRT license, and BLS certification with 2 years hospital experience preferred. Rotating shifts and dynamic teamwork are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology program
• Minimum Experience/Skills: Two (2) years recent acute care hospital experience preferred
• Licenses/Certificates/Credentials: Current BLS certification, CA CRT license, ARRT, CA Fluoroscopy license (or within 6 months of hire), CA Mammography License preferred
• These requirements ensure safe, accurate radiology imaging and patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Verbalizes and demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care for all patients.
• Performs imaging procedures in a systematic, efficient manner with proper anatomy focus.
• Demonstrates competency via quality, accurate films and appropriate techniques.
• Practices radiation safety and reports any safety concerns immediately.
• Performs Fluoroscopy under direct supervision of a licensed supervisor.
• Maintains patient records and documentation accurately and manages supplies.

Holiday Rotation:

Department: Radiology

Produces clinical diagnostic radiographic films. Performs routine diagnostic imaging procedures according to
departmental protocol, policy and procedures and established standards of practice. Operates radiographic
equipment, develops film, prepares room, equipment, supplies and medications. Provides patient care
services using general and specialized imaging modalities under the direction of a physician but not requiring
constant technical supervision. Radiology services are provided to patients of all ages.

Applies ionizing radiation in the performance of a variety of technical procedures for radiological
diagnosis. Responsible for patient care safety. Assists physicians in the performance of procedures and
the administration of contrast media. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures and equipment.
Participates in orientation of Radiology Department staff. Works cooperatively with members of the
health care team to maintain standards for professional Radiological Technologist practice in the clinical
setting.

Responsibilities

1. Verbalizes and/ or demonstrates knowledge of clinical information and practices essential to assuring
provision of age-specific care to infants, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, i.e. assuring neonate is
never left unattended and geriatric patient skin integrity assessed and maintained, etc.
2. Performs procedures in systematic and efficient manner, focusing on anatomy to be imaged while
considering status of patient.
3. Demonstrates competency in technical skills as evidenced by quality, accuracy of films produced, and
appropriateness of techniques used.
4. Practices radiation safety and informs management immediately in all cases when a radiation safety
question or problem exists.
5. Performs Fluoroscopy under the direct supervision of a Licensed Supervisor(M.D.)
6. Utilizes correct patient positioning, and exposure factors.
7. Provides appropriate patient care for radiology, IV, O2, IV Pump, etc.
8. Maintains patient records and documentation accurately.
9. Charges supplies accurately.
10. Performs equipment malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
11. Participates in routine cleaning of radiology equipment.
12. Uses resources in a cost-effective manner.
13. Performs and/or participates in the Radiology services Process Improvement, QualityAssurance, Quality
Control and MQSA activities as may be required.
14. Conforms, performs and/or participates in all mandated and/or voluntary programs of the Imaging services to
comply with the provisions of JCAHO, DHS, and any regulatory agency requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited radiology program

Minimum Experience/Skills: Two (2) years recent acute care hospital experience preferred

Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:

• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA certified)
• Current State of CA CRT License
• Current ARRT
• Current State of CA Fluoroscopy license (or within 6 months of hire/ transfer)
• Current State of CA Mammography License preferred
• Venipuncture preferred
