Job summary

Garden City Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiography, CT, mammography, and related procedures per protocol. The role includes patient interaction, QA/QC participation, and ensuring smooth operations of the radiology sub-departments.

The candidate will support performance improvement initiatives, manage supplies, and assist with scheduling and PACS transmissions, while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
• National Certifications in two Modalities or Certification in one Modality with additional procedures.
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• Familiar with State and Federal regulations.
• One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs Diagnostic Radiographic, CT, Mammography, Bone Density, Ultrasound or Special Procedures according to department protocols.
• Acts as first line interface with customers and supports imaging needs.
• Participates in PI/QC activities.
• Assists in Maintaining Performance Improvement Program.
• Oversees radiology area and staff in Managers/ Directors absence.
• Maintains department supplies.
• Schedules for assigned sub departments and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Responsible for Processing and transmission of Images to PACS.

Responsibilities

Performs Diagnostic Radiographic, Cat Scan, Mammography, Bone Density, Ultra Sound or Special Procedures according to department protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers and is successful in the accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in PI/ QC activities. Assists in Maintaining Performance Improvement Program. Oversees radiology area and/or staff in Managers / Directors absence. Maintains department supplies. Promotes teamwork and good customer service. . Does scheduling for assigned sub departments and maintains supplies and equipment for assigned sub department. Responsible for Processing and transmission of Images to PACS.

Qualifications

1. Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
2. Required National Certification and Job performance in modalities that do not require a certification a. Appropriate National Certifications in two Modalities b. or Certification in one Modality + (Bone Density to be performed or IR Special procedures to be performed or unregistered CT tech and performs CT procedures) c. or Certification in one Modality + Student Coordinator.
3. Current BCLS (AHA).
4. Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.
5. One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred
6. Proficient computer skills.
