Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John's Hospital Camarillo is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a range of diagnostic imaging tests and support radiologists in delivering timely patient care.

The role involves X-ray, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy procedures, adherence to safety protocols, and accurate image handling in PACS. Requires licensure in California and ARRT certification, with strong patient interaction and teamwork at the core.

Qualifications

  • Less than 6 months experience as Radiologic Technologist.
  • California Radiologic Technologist license required at hire.
  • ARRT certification required or in process at hire.
  • Fluoroscopy experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients and perform imaging exams per department standards.
  • Acquire diagnostic images including X-ray, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy.
  • Ensure radiation safety and proper shielding procedures.
  • Submit exams to PACS, print images when needed, and archive.
  • Obtain relevant patient history and consent prior to studies.
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with radiopaque material administration.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities
  • Transfers and positions patients. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.
  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
  • Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety procedures. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
  • Accepts responsibility for placing exams in PACS, is able to print images and burn CDs as needed. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Film accuracy, Film quality.
  • Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Patient care documentation.
  • Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination. Assists in performing of first aid as necessary. Assists the physician in administering radiopaque material. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.
