Job summary

University Hospitals in Elyria, OH is seeking a Radiology Tech Extender to support Radiologic Technologists, assist with patient preparation, and perform clerical duties. This part-time role includes day and evening shifts, weekend/holiday rotation, and adherence to safety protocols including MRI/radiation policies.

You will assist with patient assessments, transport, data entry into PACS/EHR, and ensure supplies are stocked. A High School diploma and <1 year of customer service are required; BLS certification upon hire is required.

A Brief Overview

Provides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety).

What You Will Do

• Assist the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, patient preparation and instruction. Communication with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
• Facilitate patient care including, lifting, transport, chaperone and monitoring of patients.
• Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry including PAC system.
• Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies to include ordering and stocking patient care supply item.
• Follow hospital initiative in order to meet patient satisfaction goals.
• Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures
• Follow hospital and department Core Values, SOPs, policies, and standards
• Register and check-in patients
• Communicate with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care
