Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Radiology Tech Extender (PRN) at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, OH. You will support Radiologic Technologists, perform basic patient assessments, assist with transportation, and help with data entry in PACS/EHR systems.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, less than 1 year of customer service experience, and BLS upon hire. Expect to follow MRI/radiation safety policies and hospital SOPs while upholding PHI privacy and core values.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Assist Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments, verification of orders, patient preparation and instruction.
Coordinate patient care with other health care team members.
Facilitate patient care including lifting, transport, chaperone and monitoring of patients.
Enter data in PACS and other radiology information systems.
Ensure adequate supplies are stocked and available for procedures.
Comply with MRI and radiation safety policies and department SOPs.
Follow hospital core values and PHI privacy requirements.
Register and check-in patients; communicate with team to coordinate care.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, OH

A Brief Overview

Provides support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety).

What You Will Do

Assist the Radiologic Technologist by completing basic patient assessments including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, patient preparation and instruction. Communication with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care.
Facilitate patient care including, lifting, transport, chaperone and monitoring of patients.
Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry including PAC system.
Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies to include ordering and stocking patient care supply item.
Follow hospital initiative in order to meet patient satisfaction goals.
Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures
Follow hospital and department Core Values, SOPs, policies, and standards
Register and check-in patients
Communicate with other members of the health care team to help coordinate patient care
