Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging studies with independent judgment and precise technique. You will position patients, optimize image quality, and document results while maintaining safety protocols.

The role requires an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT certification within 6 months, and CPR. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available with a 3-year commitment. This is an on-site position serving patients across our Pennsylvania network.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum an Associate's degree or equivalent; 6 months to 1 year related experience; ARRT certification within 6 months of hire.
• CPR certification required; background clearances as specified by policy.
• ARRT Radiography certification required within 6 months of hire (prior to April 2026 incumbents have 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify imaging quality issues.
• Reposition patient and retake images when necessary to ensure quality.
• Enter and report scan results accurately.
• Review patient history and physician orders; educate patient about procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media as ordered; monitor patient status.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select exposure factors; ensure safety and QC.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results. (40%)
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. (20%)
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. (20%)
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. (20%)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
• Preferred Prior radiology experience
• Additional Employment Requirements: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification required within 6 months of hire. (Incumbents in role prior to April 2026 have 12 months to obtain ARRT certification) CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
