Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform prescribed imaging with independence, ensuring high-quality images and patient comfort. You will analyze results, educate patients, and participate in safety protocols and quality control.

Requires an associate degree, ARRT certification within 6–12 months, CPR certification, and compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies. Prior radiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year program.
  • ARRT radiography certification within 6–12 months.
  • CPR certification (American Heart Association).
  • Background clearances (Act 34/33/73/FBI) as required.
  • Preferred prior radiology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and quality issues in imaging.
  • Reposition patient and repeat procedures as needed.
  • Enter, transmit and report scan results.
  • Review history and educate patient about procedures.
  • Prepare contrast media when ordered and monitor patient.
  • Ensure safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

Company : Allegheny Health Network Job Description : Sign on Bonus Eligible: $15,000 (3 year commitment)

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results. (40%)
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. (20%)
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. (20%)
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. (20%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferred Prior radiology experience
Additional Employment Requirements
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification required within 6 months of hire. (Incumbents in role prior to April 2026 have 12 months to obtain ARRT certification)
