The Radiology Technical Aide performs a variety of routine duties including clerical, non-technical, and patient-related functions. They assist radiologists, technologists, nurses, and other clinical and support staff, providing services such as patient check-in, preparation, procedure assistance, and transportation. The aide may work across multiple imaging sections and assist various radiology modalities based on operational needs.
The responsibilities of Radiology Tech Associates include:
* Interacting professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson’s values.
* Assisting in radiology rooms by providing blankets, bedpans, clothing changes, etc., and supporting technologists.
* Inspecting and replenishing stock and linen in patient care areas, ensuring adequate inventory.
* Preparing examination rooms for upcoming procedures.
* Providing backup to front office registrars and film room staff, and performing special projects and cleanup tasks.
* Training new transporters/escorts in patient care techniques and handling patient documentation.
* Performing other related duties as assigned.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
* Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Physical ability to lift, transfer, and position patients using beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
Minimum Education, Certifications, and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED; medical terminology knowledge preferred.
* Relevant training and/or experience to perform duties.
* Previous medical office experience is desirable.
* CPR certification is mandatory.
