Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Radiology Tech Aide to support radiologists, technologists and nurses with technical and patient care duties. Under supervision of the Manager of MRI/CT, you will prepare exam rooms, assist patients before procedures, and handle reception and clerical tasks at the E.

Newton or Shapiro Campuses. Part-time role requires a high school diploma and English literacy; on-the-job training 1–3 months; strong interpersonal and communication skills to reassure

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Requires a high school level of knowledge in reading and writing (in English) and arithmetic in order to understand written and oral instructions, and deal effectively with people.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilties

• Requires knowledge of work routines, procedures, materials and equipment in order to prepare rooms for x-ray procedures, perform sterilization duties and stock rooms with supplies.
• Such knowledge is normally acquired during one to three months of on-the-job training.
• Requires minimal analytical ability.
• Requires interpersonal skills and communications skills in order to provide information, reassurance and support to patients in somewhat difficult situations.
• Preference given to those individuals who have successfully completed medical terminology and basic patient care courses

Compensation Range

$17.93- $21.43
